Africa Centre Hong Kong
We are a platform & creative hub that fosters value-creating interactions between African and non-African communities in Asia

Who Are We?
We are young & passionate professionals striving to rebrand blackness, connect communities and raise black consciousness.
The center hosts various cultural events, workshops, and programs to promote African perspectives and raise awareness about African issues. It serves as a hub for education, outreach, and community engagement, focusing on values such as dignity, curiosity, and empathy.
Mission
Rebranding Blackness
Blackness is often associated with danger and/or vulnerability, we challenge this perception and offer an opportunity to appreciate and benefit from accurate representations of blackness.
Connecting Communities
We aim to become the biggest uniquely African platform in Asia to connect and build communities across ethnic groups, gender, socio-economic status, etc., and facilitate value-exchange between these communities.
Black Consciousness
We champion an African perspective, especially the need for consciousness of the power dynamics rooted in colonialism and the need for self-love. We emphasize the value and need of an African perspective in today’s uncertain world.

I value the “African Literature Book Club” as I value Women’s Day and Black History Month because African literature deserves a spotlight.
Why are we having activities?
To let Africans and non‑Africans interact and understand each other. At the same time, the activities are also opportunities for socializing, education, and entrepreneurship.
